OK gig review…. Enibriated as I write this, dodgy pics, but I have the best ones in my mind….

Unknown Pleasures at the Tivoli, in Brisvagas……

Great night, had a driver and all was looking good, not knowing what to expect with Joy Division/New Order man Peter Hook holding the reins… Started well, got lost on the way there (no Brisvagas local…), and turned up just as the main game hits the stage….turned up late, and got a great spot, for a short fella and companion could see all…oh gig finished by 10pm..

Peter Hook on Bass, his young bloke (21 tonight!) on bass as well, and a crack outfit of musicians, playing Joy Division album “Unknown Pleaures”… Sound was fantastic, and even those who value the raw energy of the original Joy Division tracks, could not help to be impressed with what was coming out of the speakers…

Mr Hook had (Almost) Ian Curtis down pat except for his dancing, but considering he wrote a large slice what was being played, of course he should know how it goes… The highlight songs many were there, but it was amazing to hear those songs, word by word, and you know almost everyone uttered… My highlight was “Interzone”, but to many others “Transmission”, “Shadowplay”, “She’s Lost Control”, “Love Will Tear us Apart”, and any song, were the one, but so many others of the set played were theirs favourite to who was watching..

It was great to see a 2 bass one guitar set up, showcasing the deep and yearning sound that is Joy Division, Peter still with those bass hooks showing the unique-ness that his style lends to Joy Division and New Order… Lead Bass… Love it…

Hey slick with all the feel and sad happiness that was Joy Division….

Glad I saw what I have, and if you are reading this from the other cities they are playing, go and check it out… Awesome show…
